  • Fly in the up position, unless you’re selling hot dogs that day.
  • Never wear white socks with black shoes, unless your name is Michael Jackson
  • Black pants matches any colored shirt you have in your closet
  • Never ever wear your pants half way down your butt in a manner which exposes 50 percent or more of your boxer shorts. Men who do this are a disgrace to all men worldwide and should be sterilized, as to not pass this deviant behavior on to future generations.

  • T-shirts should cover your stomach (all of it).
  • Unless you’re expecting a flood, the hem should come down to around your ankles. By the way, socks with sandals like these make you look like a butthead.
  • This is even worse.
  • Collar down and you’re allowed two open buttons at the most, preferably one.

Your clothes should complement you, not you your clothes.

Now, on with the rest of the rules that will pop into my mind, there are 59 of them:

  • Your initials sewn into your suits/ties/shirts etc. – not cool

  • Do not wear suits with wide pinstripes

  • Do not wear plaid suits unless you’re a fashion designer and/or know what you’re doing.

  • Do not wear your phone attached to belt.

  • As a matter of fact, try to ditch as many items as possible that you carry, including a bulging wallet (subside it for a money clip), a humongous phone case, giant pack of keys etc.
  • Do not wear sunglasses indoors (unless you’re pitbull)

  • Never wear socks with sandals. Some fashion designers are literally serial killers.
  • Never wear white socks
  • Do not wear NB and Nike sneakers anywhere but the gym

  • Never wear this or that piece of clothing because “but Kardashian wears them!”, trust me, some of these folks have no a clue how to dress.

  • Stop using AXE… now!

  • Keep your collar stays and use them

  • Always press your shirts

  • Always match your shoes with your belt. Exceptions are for pros.
  • Do not wear two of the same colors in two even slightly different shades
  • Glasses literally shape your face, it’s worth going to a stylist to figure out what shape suits you – and stick with it.

  • Make sure to go to a professional barber at least once, to find out which haircut and beard or not best suit you, unlike Jong Un….

  • Limit bracelets to 2-3, if done right they can look very classy

  • Headphones and pretty much and electronic accessory are NOT fashion accessories. (ex. Google Glass [as of it’s design in March 2014] is for hippies, Moto360 is for classy pps)
  • Walk with your back straight. No, you do not look like a big-shot when you do this – unless your nose is touching the sky.

  • Make sure your shirt comes out of the sleeve of your suit about two inches
  • ALWAYS get a custom tailored suit or get a well fitted suit from brands who know how to tailor (like Zara, H&M, Express etc.) and then get them tailored by a tailor (…holy tailor!)
  • Learn from woman’s fashion
  • Suit pants should reach your shoe + an inch and never get permanent pleated pants.
  • Pants should never look like leggings
  • Make sure your socks match your outfit – it actually makes a difference
  • Say no to drugs and cigarettes
  • Don’t go bare chested in under 100 ft. from the beach or ever from your front door.
  • Get taps and tress for your shoes to keep them from getting ruined and to keep them fresh.
  • Trim your underarm hair
  • Don’t walk around the street with a comb in your hair unless you know what it represents
  • Short folks should never go with horizontal lines, they make your look bigger and shorter – cartoonish
  • All of your clothing, in general, SHOULD have a flat feel to them. No shiny stuff (besides shoes, buckles, cuff-links and buttons). This does not mean you can’t wear light green hipster pants – go crazy!

Basic guidelines for men’s fashion:

  • Get a navy blue suit, it always works. Pair it with a darker shade of brown shoes and belt.
  • Never wear a suit without a pocket square. Some even say that a suit without one is a ‘naked suit’.
  • Reserve ties for special occasions
  • Don’t ever wear any clothing that people can tell you wore yesterday. (Note: Even just changing your tie/belt or shoes makes a big difference.)
  • Don’t ever wear the same color clothing together unless it’s a suit. Ex. never wear grey pants and shirt. The goal is contrast and colors that compliment.
  • Just because the guy in the store told you it looks nice, it doesn’t mean it looks nice ON YOU
  • Brush and floss your teeth
  • When I get new clothes, I like to get everything new so that I’m not left with anything that’s associated with previous outfits. This only excludes shirts. The goal here is too, that the clothing should match, compliment and contrast and not just be new.
  • NEVER wear flat tipped shoes or shoes that are designed with a tip that’s like 2 inches longer than your foot, it looks ridiculous.
  • Proportions are very important which is why it is very important which clothing you’re wearing. For ex. longer legs make you look taller, so pull yo pants up. Square glasses on a square faced dude makes you look…square: no good. etc.
  • If you are over 25, your goal should be to make yourself look more intelligent so you should grow a little stubble and make sure your haircut reveals your forehead.
  • Not so fast boy, even if you’re 16 you should start ditching that emo hair.
  • Earrings, necklaces and bracelets should be extremely subtle
  • Don’t wear reg glasses and sunglasses at the same time. Either get contacts with your sunglasses or get ’em prescribed.
  • If you wear a Fedora, make sure the brim is not bigger than a third of the width of your head
  • Don’t eat in the street
  • Don’t wear clothing that shout ‘BRAND-NAME’
  • Quality over quantity, I like to use that in terms that the quality of clothing isn’t dependent on their cost anymore. To test a suit’s quality, twist the material and look for wrinkles.
  • Some contrast ideas: Blue pants with gray sweater. Blue suit with brown shoes. Gray pants with deep brown shoes. Light white plaid on gray two piece suit with a blue shirt and deep red tie…. Just to make it clear: You are not crazy if you don’t know how to pair clothes, in my opinion it’s an art. So for good ideas you can search online, ask a stylist or you can ask me
